Portfolio

Welcome to my world of ceramics, where artistry meets functionality in a harmonious dance. My creations; tableware, cookware, and sculptural works are designed not just to serve a purpose but to enrich lives with beauty and intention. Each piece reflects who I am: my love of nature, my spiritual beliefs, my ancestry, and much more.

Fresh From the Earth

For three weeks I immersed myself in the canyons of New Mexico, learning the ceramic traditions of my Apache ancestors, Micaceous Clay Cooking Vessels. I was guided through this immersion by my mentor George Payapilly, who in turn learned from his mentor, Felipe Ortega.

Felipe Ortega, an Apache medicine man and exceptional micaceous clay potter of Jicarilla Apache descent, honored the ancient tradition of his craft. This art form had been passed down through his ancestral lineage for countless generations.

This cooking vessel was a creation woven through prayer and tradition.

Altar for Cecilia Gentili

This altar was created to honor the life of Cecilia Gentili, in collaboration with artists Kemi, Scoops, and Erica. I created the bottom three vessels, which are meant for holding offerings from loved ones. Inspiration for creating altars stems from a long-held admiration for the religious practice of approaching an altar to pray and connect one with their own spiritual practices. The candles, offerings, and beautiful shapes and colors have always captivated me. We were motivated to create what you see, an altar that would be a space to connect with and grieve over Cecilia Gentili.

Freedom to Flow

This vessel was created by allowing myself to drop into a deep creative flow. Nothing about this piece was planned, the shape nor the glaze. This was fired in a soda chamber inside Chris Gustin's Anagama kiln in Massachusetts.

Árbol de la vida

This is my own interpretation of a traditional Mexican Árbol de la vida. Traditionally, most Árboles de la vidas depict biblical scenes or scenes of Día de los Muertos. Mine depicts my own beliefs: the spiral of life, the white buffalo, and Mother Earth
